![]() She was also a student volunteer and clinic administrator at the Wisconsin Companion Animal Resources, Education, and Social Services (WisCARES) program that provides veterinary care to individuals facing homelessness and housing insecurity in Dane County. She participated in a Rural Area Vets training program that brings veterinary services to underserved communities. Kate especially enjoyed her volunteer experiences during veterinary school. She completed her undergraduate degree in Anthropology at the University of Utah in 2014, then returned to the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2019. Kate grew up in Shorewood, and her interest in veterinary medicine began while employed as a kennel assistant at the Shorewood Animal Hospital in high school.
